Japan Rail Pass: Pass can only be used by persons whose name is on the pass. The pass cannot be given or sold to others. Purchase of one pass per person per visit is allowed. We provide the exchange order. Once you arrive in Japan, you must submit your exchange order at a designated JR Pass exchange office to receive your pass. Please have your valid passport with your temporary visitor stamp or your permanent residency visa of another country if you are Japanese. You must exchange your pass within 3 months from the date the Exchange order was issued. When you exchange, you must specify the date that you want to start using the pass. It can be any date within one month from the date the pass is received. You may be asked to produce your valid passport at train station when using passes If the exchange order is lost or stolen, pass is non-refundable and cannot be re-issued. Purchase eligibility: You must be a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing purposes only under the entry status of temporary visitor or a Japanese national living in a foreign country who is qualified to live permanent in that country. If you enter Japan under any official status such as “trainee” or “entertainer” will make the pass invalid even if it is classified “temporary visitor” Pass cannot be purchased in Japan. Not valid for travel on sleeper trains, private compartments, Nozomi and Mizuho trains, and JR Hakata-Pusan (Korea) ferry. Validity period of a JR Pass is the consecutive 7, 14 or 21 days from the nominated date on the exchanged pass.
