Embark on a journey of discovery in Kōchi and Matsuyama, two cities rich in culture and history. 

Kochi

Explore the ancient Kōchi Castle and its museum, and sample delicious local food and shop for souvenirs at Hirome Market. 

Matsuyama

Visit Matsuyama Castle, one of Japan’s most famous castles, and the Dōgo Shotengai Area, a bustling shopping district around Japan’s oldest hot spring.

With the guidance of a professional driver and guide, these Shikoku onshore excursions provide great opportunity to learn about the unique cultural heritage of Kōchi and Matsuyama, while enjoying the scenic beauty of Japan.

Itinerary

  • 8:00am: Breakfast on the cruise ship
  • 9:00am: Meet the driver and guide at Y by X:XX and proceed to Kōchi Castle
  • 9:30-10:30am: Guided tour of Kōchi Castle
  • 10:35-11:35am: Guided tour of Kōchi Castle Museum
  • 11:40am-1:00pm: Visit Hirome Market for lunch and shopping
  • 1:30pm: Return to the cruise ship

  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

    Notes: The itinerary can be adjusted if the group wishes to return to the cruise ship earlier. The Hirome Market is a great place to sample different foods and buy souvenirs.

  • 8:00am: Breakfast on the cruise ship (assuming Mitsuhamakō Port)
  • 9:00am: Meet the driver and guide and proceed to Matsuyama Castle
  • 9:30-11:00am: Guided tour of Matsuyama Castle
  • 11:10am-1:10pm: Guided tour of Dōgo Shotengai Area for lunch and shopping. There will be plenty of time to explore the streets around Dōgo Onsen, Japan’s oldest hot spring. If you’d like to experience the onsen, please inform the guide.
  • 1:45pm: Return to the cruise ship

  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

    Notes: The itinerary can be adjusted if the group wishes to spend more time at the hot spring or explore other parts of Matsuyama.
