The villages can be explored on foot or by rental cycle and Nanten-en have prepared special GoogleMaps to help you find your way around. For guests staying more than one night, Mount Kongo and Mount Iwawaki make for interesting day hikes and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Koyasan is a little over an hour to the south by train.
