Description

Kyoto by the Sea is a mecca of wellness and longevity. Just ask any one of the hundreds of people thriving over 100-years-old here. During your time here, you will learn some of the secrets to how and why people here are living so well for so long.

Itinerary

Your visit starts with a visit to the forests, where you can explore national treasure, Niomon Gate and Komyoji Temple nestled in the mountain forests. Nearby are natural hot springs, as well as an 800 year old paper making factory and village where you can actually come and make your own Japanese washi paper.
You will stay in a Japanese farmhouse tonight and participate in farm to table activities. You are guaranteed to eat the freshest possible meal, with local ingredients that are sourced that morning.

Next you will head to the Japanese Sea to experience Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views. Walk across the iconic 3.6 km land bridge that lies on one of UNESCO’s Worlds Most Beautiful Bays, swim in the crystalline waters or stroll along the pine tree path and white sandy beaches. You will have the opportunity to see the Amanohashidate land bridge from above as well, during a visit to pilgrimage temple Nariaiji. This temple is set up on a mountain with panoramic views of the entire region. It is a part of the 33 temple pilgrimage route through western Japan and draws many pilgrims every year because of its beauty and breathtaking scenery.
Overnight at a traditional accommodation with water views and onsen.

Start your day with a traditional Japanese breakfast and the rest of the day is at your leisure.
