Description

JR Pass is a must buy for a convenient sightseeing travel in Japan. Depending on the type of pass, it enables passengers to use unlimited use of the extensive Japan Railway network including local trains, express trains, shinkansen (bullet trains), some buses and ferries.

It is a pass purely designed for tourists and with the exception of regional passes, it cannot be purchased in Japan.

Japan Rail Pass

Japan Rail Pass allows unlimited rides throughout the country on the wide JR network from Hokkaido all the way down to Kyushu. Bullet train charge as well as local JR trains, and some ferries and buses as well as the Tokyo Monorail are also included. Some restrictions apply. The pass is not valid for Nozomi and Mizuho trains however, there are other services that can be used with JR Pass that substitute these trains.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Pricing will be converted into Australian Dollar at time of purchse (only Australia Dollar payment is accepted)
  • All passes can only be used by persons whose name is on the pass. The pass cannot be given or sold to others
  • Purchase of one pass per person per visit is allowed
  • We provide the exchange order. Once you arrive in Japan, you must submit your exchange order at a designated JR Pass exchange office to receive your pass. Please have your valid passport with your temporary visitor stamp or your permanent residency visa of another country if you are Japanese.
    Within 3 months from the date the Exchange Order was issued, you must exchange your order to obtain the rail pass. When you exchange, you must specify the date that you want to start using the pass. It can be any date within one month from the date the pass is received. You may be asked to produce your valid passport at train station when using passes
  • If the exchange order is lost or stolen, pass is non-refundabl and cannot be re-issued
  • Full payment is required at time of purchase

  • Purchase eligibility: You must be a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing purposes only under the entry status of temporary visitor or a Japanese national living in a foreign country who is qualified to live permanent in that country.

    All other passes: You must be a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing under the entry status of temporary visitor. If you enter Japan under any official status such as “trainee” or “entertainer” will make the pass invalid even if it is classified “temporary visitor” JR Pass: JR Pass cannot be purchased in Japan. Not valid for travel on sleeper trains, private compartments, Nozomi and Mizuho trains, and JR Hakata-Pusan (Korea) ferry. Validity period of a JR Pass is the consecutive 7, 14 or 21 days from the nominated date on the exchanged pass. JR Hokkaido Rail Pass: JR Hokkaido Rail Pass can be purchased in Australia (in AUD) or in Japan (in JPY).

    Please note, not all train stations in Japan sell the passes. If you ride trains that overlap with East Japan rail lines, the boarding portion of the ticket will include the last station of the JR Hokkaido Line which is Naka Oguni Station and the fare will cover the first or last stop on the JR Hokkaido Line.

    Not valid for travel on sleeper trains, private compartments, carpet cars and Twinkle Bus.
    JR East Rail Pass: JR East Rail Pass can be purchased in Australia (in AUD) or in Japan (in JPY). Please note, not all train stations in Japan sell the passes. Pass is not valid for the Tokaido Shinkansen, JR buses, GranClass, private compartments and sleeper trains.
    JR West Rail Pass: JR West Rail Pass can be purchased in Australia (in AUD) or in Japan (in JPY). Please note, not all train stations in Japan sell the passes.
    JR West Sanyo Area Rail Pass: Pass is not valid on reserved seats for other trains except for limited express Haruka trains.
    JR Kansai Area Rail Pass: Pass not valid on any bullet trains or limited express trains except for un reserved seats on limited express Haruka trains.
    JR Kyushu Rail Pass: JR Kyushu Rail Pass can be purchased in Australia or in Japan (in JPY). Please note, not all train stations in Japan sell the passes. The pass cannot be used on sleeper trains, Sanyo Shinkansen and JR Kyushu buses.
